INCIDENT: Charlie Alliston knocked Kim Briggs over as she was crossing Old Street in London

Charlie Alliston was jailed for 18 months in September after knocking into 44-year-old Kim Briggs while riding an illegal Olympic-style racing bike for a “thrill” last year.

Alliston – who was 18 at the time – was cleared of manslaughter but found guilty of causing bodily harm by “wanton and furious driving” in a week-long trial at the Old Bailey.

The mum-of-two suffered “catastrophic” injuries and died a week later after she was struck down while crossing Old Street in east London in February 2016.

One friend bragged about his visit to see Alliston, now 20, in jail.

Kaz Ward wrote: “Pukka visit today with bicycle Charlie” with laughing emojis.

But another person commented on the post: “Two kids are crying themselves to sleep every night. You think it’s a big joke.”

“Who the f*** are you to judge my son?”

Alliston’s mum got involved in a spat with another Facebook user, saying “who the f*** are you to judge my son?”

The person responded by accusing her of celebrating her son being cleared of a manslaughter charge.

He added: “Ever since then you’ve been taking pictures at prisons like it is a big joke.”

Husband Matthew Briggs, who sat through every day of the “gruelling and painful” trial, paid tribute to his “wonderful” wife of 18 years.

And Old Bailey Judge Wendy Joseph QC said the tragedy could have been avoided if the bike been fitted with a front wheel brake.
