Another added: “One of the more difficult moment of my life.”

Another simply said: “I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already?!”

Others were quick to offer their well wishes to the legend.

“Michael you are GREAT, please keep fighting, we love you,” one wrote.

Schumacher, 48, has not been seen in public since his horror accident which left him in a coma.

Schumacher initially retired in 2006, leaving as a seemingly unassailable marker at the top of the record books.

He made a shock comeback for the 2010 season, joining new team Mercedes GP before going back into retirement two years later.

The health condition of the racing ace remains a mystery, with no confirmed updates about his health as his management say it is “not a public matter”.

It is thought he is being cared for at his family home near Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

Last month, there were reports the 48-year-old could be flown to the US for treatment.

Citing Bravo, broadcaster Eurosport claimed that his wife Corinna has “decided to try new care” in Texas, where his family owns a cattle ranch.
