WWE news: Shane McMahon shock injury at Hell in a Cell event Latest News

Shane McMahon, 47, has been entertaining wrestling fans since he was 15, but that could be about to end after his brutal cage match with Kevin Owens.

The SmackDown LIVE chief and Owens were fighting at the WWE Hell in a Cell event at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

With Owens laid on a table, McMahon attempted to end the battle with a 40ft leap from atop the cell.

But at the last minute another fighter Sami Zayn pulled Owen aside, leaving Shane to slam through the table to the floor.

McMahon was immediately tended to by medics and taken to a nearby medical facility.

WWE confirmed: “SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon has been taken to a local medical facility after leaping from the top of Hell in a Cell and crashing through an announce table during his brutal Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match against Kevin Owens.

“A preliminary report has determined that Shane may be dealing with multiple injuries, including neck trauma, fractured ribs and a dislocated shoulder.

“While nothing has been confirmed at this time, WWE.com will continue to monitor Shane’s condition.”

Concerned fans were quick to send their well-wishes to the star.

“That was crazy, hope you are OK man. Really hope this doesn’t mean retirement,” one wrote on Twitter.

Another blasted: “You’re like 50 years old, stop jumping off things”.

And one wrote: “Shane literally risked his life just for the WWE universe. Thanks Shane”.

Another simply stated: “Can someone please confirm whether or not Shane is still alive?”

McMahon has attempted similar leaps of faith in recent years, including a dive from the top of the cell at WrestleMania 32 during a Hell in the Cell loss to The Undertaker.

He has previously also fallen from the Titantron, while earlier this year he was one of two people who survived a helicopter crash.

The chopper made an emergency landing off the shore of New York’s Gilgo Beach in July.
