WWE news: Triple H teases Wrestlemania in London after Shield match Latest News

Thousands of wrestling fans chanted “We want Mania” and “Wrestlemania” last night as WWE Live took over the Wembley Arena in London – sponsored by video game WWE 2k18.

The main event saw WWE boss Triple H team with Raw Tag Team Champions The Shield – Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose – to beat Bray Wyatt, Sheamus and Cesaro.

As the show finished, the victorious trio stood in the ring to thunderous chants from the British fans who called for the biggest show of the year Wrestlemania to come to the UK.

Britain has not hosted one of the WWE’s “Big Four” pay-per-view events since Summerslam 1992.

With chants raining down, Triple H dropped a big hint it could be on the cards while Rollins and Ambrose gave their backing to a UK Wrestlemania.

“I would come here for Wrestlemania”

Triple H took to the microphone after the match as the packed out SSE Arena was near deafening with chants for the show.

He said: “There is only one guy who can make that decision for you and unfortunately he is not here”

Fans then booed as Triple H seemed to referring to WWE chief exec Vince McMahon.

The 14-time world champion then added “If you are loud enough, maybe he will here you across the pond” – sparking another shower of chants.

Ambrose and Rollins then weighed in as Triple H handed them the microphone.

Rollins said “If it were up to me, I could do Wrestlemania” while Amrbose added “I would come here for Wrestlemania too”.

The trio then did The Shield’s trademark three-fists hand gesture before leaving the ring.

Wembley Stadium has often been rumoured to be a possible venue for Wrestlemania as the WWE looks to expand its international brand.

The company has been giving new focus to British wrestlers, introducing the WWE United Kingdom Championship back in December last year.

WWE is also reportedly trying to create a new UK-based show to give exposure to British talents.

Triple H was a last minute addition to the UK tour, replacing sick superstar and third member of The Shield multi-time champ Roman Reigns.

WWE Live will be at the Butlins Arena in Minehead tonight and the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena tomorrow before back-to-back TV tapings in Manchester.

On Tuesday night’s edition of Smackdown WWE Champion Jinder Mahal will defend his belt against AJ Styles.
